The Avon Valley Local Guide (AVLG)

Business and Community

The idea behind the AVLG is to create an easy to use local online guide for the Avon Valley.

Designed to be fast and easy to use, potential customers can go from internet search to businesses, events and organisations in under 15 seconds and three clicks of the mouse. However, not everyone is in a hurry so we have the familiar tables of contents and indexes.

The AVLG is firmly established within the major search engines and placing adverrtisers, products and services into the major search engines, Google search, Yahoo7 search, Bing and Sensis. Try it for yourself.

You will find the Northam Local Business Guide near the top of page one.

The AVLG has been created with both business and community needs in mind.

  • The commercial pages are provided for government and businesses to promote their presence in the local area and globally.
  • Search results from Google USA, UK and Canada mirror the Australian results.
  • The standard business advertisement contains everything regular and new customers need to know to find your business, products and services.
  • The layout of the advertisements are tailored to get products and services into Google.

The AVLG also caters for short term advertising. Business, professional and community seminars, workshops, openings and public meetings in the Avon Valley Seminar Guide.

The Community guides are provided as a place for community organisations and individuals to have their projects promoted. Advertising in the community guides is free for community projects and groups.

Promoting the Avon Valley globally

For people who don't know the Avon region, searching for interesting things to see and do online can be frustrating.

The AVLG can solve all sorts of problems, and "Yes" you will have to ask google yourself.

The is more to the AVLG then simply creating a fast and efficient business and community directory, the AVLG is also developing promotional guides for the Avon Valley.

Businesses and community groups are welcome to call or email to discuss inclusion in the promotional pages.

After all, there is well over a million people just over the hill who could visit the Avon Valley more often. We simply have to make it easy for them to find us and what the Avon Valley has to offer.

Put everything in one place that is easy to find and use and people will find more reasons to come to the Avon. The more people we can attract, the more the region prospers.

There is more to the Avon region than most people realize and the AVLG would like to bring local businesses and community projects to the attention of the people everywhere.

The AVLG in google Japan search results

The AVLG has global reach, here is a screen shot from Google Japan.

We have recently produced a Avon Valley Event Guide and a Northam Local Visitor Guide. If your group has annual events in the Avon Valley, the AVLG would like to let everyone know about them. As always, community advertisements are free.

The Avon Valley Events Guide covers the whole Avon Valley as it is important to promote events regionally.

Promoters of events in Toodyay, York, Beverly and Brookton are invited to have their events included in the Avon Valley Event Guide.

While the Northam Local Visitor Guide is designed to focus on Northam, it is important to work regionally. If there is sufficient interest from business and community contributors in neighboring shires, visitor guides to the shires of Toodyay, York, Beverly and Brookton can be created for potential visitors and local people alike.

The hot air ballooning season runs from autumn to spring in the shire of Northam.

Balloon chasing is a lot of fun, but it is important to stay out of farmer's fields.
